Thomas and Friends Take n Play Thomas Adventure Castle Review

We were very excited to be chosen to review the Thomas and Friends Take -N –Play Thomas’ Adventure Castle. My 3 year has been a Thomas fan for a long time and had been asking for this play set!

Take-n-play2

We have lots of Thomas and Friends Trackmaster at home so I was interested to see how the Take-N-Play compares. The box was very visually appealing and showed the set with a Thomas and Troublesome Truck. It was easy to take out of the box, but I was a little surprised that the parts were all loose, except the Thomas and Truck which were kept in place in a small plastic compartment.

The set was easy to put together and took me about 5 minutes, it’s normally my husband’s job but this time I was on my own!

I put the set together and left it in the middle of the floor so my son would see it when he came home from nursery. It was a great surprise for him and he was very happy to see it.

We all love the set. It helps if you’ve watched the film King of the Railway (which came out last year). Thomas and the Troublesome Truck race down the track, flags come down and the treasure is released. Thomas and the Troublesome Truck magically join together and they knock down the drawbridge as the two knights pop up.

Take-n-play1

My son really enjoys playing with it. He already had a few Take-N-Play engines so the toy has inspired him to recreate the film over and over again.

The set fits with other pieces of Take-N-Play track but stands alone really well. I like the way it folds up and looks like a castle, it looks great on a shelf when not in use.

It’s difficult to think of things we don’t like about it. At a push I’d say Thomas and the Troublesome Truck don’t always join up if you set them off at the same time. And sometimes the track comes apart, the joins aren’t very strong so it’s easy to knock them out of place. However, for the money it’s a great toy and if you’re short of space, it’s a must for any Thomas fan!
