I’m feeling mixed over this product; the design and quality is good but I just can’t see the point of it if I am being brutally honest.
It’s basically pretend baking and the parts of Tatty Teddy come apart to make all the required components – the chefs hat is a flour sifter, the lower part of his head is a mixing bowl and it also comes with spoons, a rolling pin and pastry moulds which can be stored in the lower body (a massive plus point for me, I hate toys where there’s no storage for all the accessories!).
Scarlett is now 5 and has hardly played with this – she is more in making real cakes as opposed to pretending to make them. My 20 month old son likes it but treats it more as a puzzle than using it to pretend to bake. The age range is 3+ and may be more appropriate for children of that age or slightly younger that maybe aren’t able to do real baking.
The Tatty Teddy Baking Set is currently on sale for £14.99 at ToysRUs
