Stocking Fillers For Children

For kids, there’s nothing to match the anticipation and excitement of hanging an empty stocking from the mantelpiece – except maybe the fun of opening it up the next morning!

Puzzles and activities

Capture their attention from the moment they wake up with enthralling puzzles or activity books – it’s the perfect way to snatch a few extra minutes in bed on Christmas morning! From crosswords and brainteasers to exciting adventures in the Lego Friends Activity Book, there are plenty to choose from. The Crayola Gigantic Colouring Book for 3 – 5 year olds or the Peppa Pig Puzzle & Colour are excellent stocking fillers for younger kids.

Awesome action figures

A stocking wouldn’t be a stocking without at least one or two toys and there are few better choices than exciting action figures. Whether your little one is a My Little Pony fan or they’ve fallen in love with The Avengers superheroes, you know you’ll be setting them up for hours of imaginative fun. Or, plump for a surprise within a surprise and wrap up a few Lego Minifigures to keep your kids guessing for longer.

Small, easy snacks

When your little ones wake up brimming with Christmas cheer well before the sun has risen, stockings are your saviour – especially if you pop in a few easy to eat snacks and treats. Monkey nuts are a real festive favourite, as are satsumas, but you can just as easily stave off morning hunger pangs with a box or two of raisins or other dried fruits. Of course, there’s a chance they’ll be passed over in favour of chocolate coins but some Christmas traditions are well worth keeping.

Brilliant Books

Inexpensive, absorbing and perfect for enjoying again and again, books are excellent stocking fillers for children. Pop in an exciting novel for older kids or enchanting picture books for younger ones and set them up with an imaginary world to escape in to when the excitement of Christmas is too much. With festive specials like Father Christmas Needs a Wee or The Dinosaur that Pooped Christmas on offer, you can certainly guarantee some giggles perfect for getting the day off to a good start.

Winter warmers

What better way to persuade your kids to wear snuggly scarves or cosy hats than by picking ones adorned by their favourite characters or festive friends? Include a cool character hat, pair of gloves, toasty socks or a fun Christmas jumper in their stocking to keep them warm throughout the day and add some sweetness with a cute hot chocolate kit to be enjoyed after outside play.

Toys to inspire

Why not also look for stocking fillers that are likely to inspire your kids all year round? If your little one has dreams of being a magician, they’ll love the chance to put on their own show during the holidays with the help of the Stunning Magic Hat, a magic set for kids aged between 8 – 16. Budding fashion designers, on the other hand, will be endlessly entertained by the Crayola Catwalk Creations kit, which includes everything you need to create gorgeous designer outfits in miniature.
