Moxie Girlz Horse Riding Club Cricket Doll and Horse Review

I’ll be honest, Moxie Girlz have kind of passed me by however, they’ve certainly not passed my 6 year old by who had written one of these very sets on the first draft of her Christmas list. The lucky girl was able to cross that item off and replace it with something else!  The chances are she probably wouldn’t have got it anyway as it’s very similar to another product she has, however I have been able to compare the two and I have to say this one has come out top for me.

The Moxie Girlz Horse Riding Club set comes with a one horse and one doll as well as a hair brush (for use on both the doll and the horse).  The best thing? This is not just a horse, this horse can actually walk on its own and it does so quite well – to do this you need 4 x AA batteries, which are not included.

From experience of a similar product that we already own, I have to say that  the Moxie Girlz horse felt a lot sturdier and stood up a lot better, it just felt better quality. It doesn’t go well on carpet but that’s to be expected I think, and works much better on a hard surface.   I like the attention to detail on both the doll and the horse and my daughter just loves this toy. I’ll be honest, it’s something I too would have adored as a young girl.   I’m not sure about the longevity of the toy or whether it will be a bit of a one hit wonder, as although my daughter loves dolls when she first gets them, she doesn’t seem to play with them that often. Time will tell!

Would I buy it? If we didn’t already have a similar product, then yes I would. I think the quality of the toy is good, it feels robust and I think it’s reasonably priced. Any horse-mad little girl would be sure to love finding this under the Christmas tree!

The Moxie Girlz Horse Riding Club Cricket Doll and Horse is available from Toys R Us and retails at £34.99.
