John Adams Chocolate Lolly Maker Review

My daughter’s friend recently bought round a chocolate coin maker, and my goodness, what a palava it was to use! Because of this experience, I was a little apprehensive about trying out the Chocolate Lolly Maker, expecting it to be fiddly and time-consuming. I needn’t have worried. This kit is simple to use and produces lovely looking lollies, ideal for giving as gifts.

Inside the box, we found instructions, a lolly wrapping machine, lolly moulds (pony, bunny, heart and flower), message moulds (8), chocolate melting station, spoon, stirrer, lolly wrappers and ribbons.

As usual, Mini was keen to get stuck in and assist Belle, so I joined the girls and we got to work. Rather than fiddling around with microwaves, the handy melting station means little hands can assist in the process. Simply fill the container with warm water, add some chocolate drops and stir. We actually used blocks of chocolate and still found the melting station effective, although chocolate drops or buttons would speed the process up.

Once melted, we followed the instructions and poured the melted chocolate into the moulds, after placing the stick in the holder. We put the moulds in the fridge for about 45 minutes and added a little stamp into the back after about ten minutes. You can choose from messages such as ‘Happy Birthday’, ‘Good Luck’ and ‘Merry Xmas’ to add that extra special touch. To speed up setting time, the lollies can be placed in the freezer.

Once the time was up, we took the lollies out of the fridge and popped them out of their flexible moulds.

Now onto the girls favourite part- wrapping the chocolate lollies. Belle placed hers into the wrapping machine, added the silver wrapper and turned the wheel at the bottom. After adding the ribbon, she proudly showed off her end product with Mini.

So would I recommend this Chocolate Lolly Maker? Absolutely. My children love using it, it’s simple to use and doesn’t create much mess at all. I’ve already ticked the teachers Christmas presents off of the list for this year…chocolate lollies all round!
