This review is part of the Babyologist programme, where a team of hand-selected reviewers put baby products and toys to the test with their little ones for useful insight by parents, for parents.
My toddler Roger who is 22 months old received this as part of the Toys R Us’ Toyologist programme.
The box is 61cm (W)x 44cm (H) x 14cm (D). It is really clear with the pictures on the front and back giving lots of information. It looks very smart.
In the box there are instructions with philips type screws (no screwdriver in the box), the seat with removable metal bar, two rounded plastic legs, vibrating plastic base (takes 2 C batteries) and a toy bar.
Putting it together was pretty simple. It only involved 6 screws which my 7 year old son Billy wanted to do, so I let him. The instructions are a little bit confusing in the layout but you only need to look at the box to see how it should go. Once the legs were screwed in, the fabric seat was clicked into place (very easy and no having to pinch metal bits as it all slides into place). The head piece has buttons for easy release so you can remove the seat for washing. It is machine washable and safe to put in the tumble dryer. It took about 10-15 minutes to assemble.
Once together the rocker is quite large. The seat is nice and wide, which is a good thing as you will get many years out of it. It is a lovely bright colourful seat. The bright white and turquoise legs make it look really clean and smart. It is very sturdy and it comes with rubber feet on the stands, these flip out the base which turns it from rocker to chair. The toy bar has two monkeys on, 1 with a roller ball and the other with dangling leaves. It is removable by pinching the clips on it and lifting up, very smooth to place in and take out.
It has 2 buttons on the back which make it recline. There is also a clip at the back of the material which lets it lay down further. It does not lay completely flat. It has a built in safety restraint, this goes very large and the two clips are under the material so little fingers wont be able to grab at them as you strap them in. The button at the front switches on and off the vibration mode. There is only one speed of vibration. The speed is steady and its not noisy. The rocker can be collapsed down for taking out and about. It goes quite flat and fits my car boot easily (Ford Mondeo). It is quite light to carry as its mainly made of plastic.
Roger really loves this chair. He found it comfy and even fell asleep in it. He has been using this chair every single day since receiving it. He likes to sit and watch his films, draw pictures and have his daytime naps in it. Roger is very tall for his age at 92cm tall and he fits in this rocker/chair with plenty of growing room. This will last him at least another year or two.
