Reviewers: Mummy, Daddy, Rabbysnuggles and Joshua (18 months)
Thank you for my new toy Car Transportar. I like to carry the green car around the house and push it along the floor. Sometimes I put all the cars in the back of truck with lots of other toys and push them around the kitchen. If Mummy and Daddy are in the way I sometimes accidentally run into them.
My Mummy and Daddy have cars, and when they take me out in them I usually fall asleep. I don’t like being in my car seat for too long, as I get bored and cry. Sometimes Daddy lets me sit on his knee in the front seat and play with the all the levers and things. I like yanking the windscreen wiper lever the most. Daddy is worried I might break it though.
Lots of love
Melissa and Doug Car Transporter is a simple wooden toy. It consists of the Transporter Trailer, which lowers to allow the cars from the upper deck to roll off, the Truck that tows it, and 4 cars (the right size for little hands).
All the parts are well made and I would expect them to be long lasting. The wood is a nice alternative to the metal/plastic alternatives.
We’ve noticed in the picture on the Toysrus website that the little cars are more rounded than the one we received, but it makes no difference to the enjoyment of the toy from what we can see. Also, the toy packaging says “2+” on it (I presume the age?), but the Toysrus website says 3+. We think this is fine for Joshua’s age (18 months) and perhaps younger, but perhaps Toysrus can clarify what the age should be and why? Perhaps the wheels could come off and be swallowed, but I’m not sure.
There was some excitement as we opened up the packaging! Joshua (18 months) paid very little attention to the Truck and Trailer, but immediately adopted two of the cars as he trolled off exploring some more. He has since started pushing the cars (and the Chuggington Trains) around on the carpet.
As Spency pointed out in his review, the cars will roll on the Chuggington Train Track!
When he is a little older, I think he will enjoy rolling the cars on and off the transporter and driving it round on the carpet, but for now, the cars are the main source of amusement. More simple toys such as this and Matchbox cars seem to encourage more imaginative play, than some of the more techy/flashy toys.
There aren’t really any surprises with this toy. It does what you expect it to.
