Babyologist Review: Fisher-Price Hippo Cuddle Projection Soother Reviewed By Jenni

Babyologist Jenni and her baby Lucas put the Hippo Cuddle soother to the test – will it prove to be an effective sleep aid? This review is part of the Babyologist programme, where a team of hand-selected reviewers test baby products and toys with their little ones for useful insight by parents, for parents.

As a Babyologist for Babys R Us, Lucas received a Fisher-price Hippo Cuddle Projection Soother to review. The hippo retails at £19.99.

Hippo Cuddle - Jenni Grainger - 01

The hippo is an adorable night light with stars, a music mode and a sounds of nature mode. Lucas loves it and especially likes to press the buttons himself, turning the light on and off.

The star light only stays on for approximately 5 minutes which isn’t long enough for Lucas to settle and fall to sleep, when the stars go off, it unsettles Lucas and prolongs the bedtime routine.

The music and nature sounds last approximately 30 minutes. The music and nature sounds are both soothing but I would have liked the music to either be quieter or the hippo to have a volume button as it is too loud for using during a night feed.

As a sleep aid I wouldn’t recommend it but if you buy it as a toy, I would definitely recommend it. Lucas is mesmerised by the stars on the ceiling, really enjoys using the buttons and snuggles up to the hippo’s face.
